    Description
    Further to our earlier announcement on 25 October 2010 in relation to the incorporation of a local subsidiary in Taiwan, DBS Bank Ltd (“DBS”) is pleased to announce that the Financial Supervisory Commission of Taiwan issued its approval on 5 August 2011 for establishment of DBS Bank (Taiwan) Ltd (“DBS Taiwan”).

    DBS Taiwan will continually strengthen and develop its SME banking, trade finance, consumer banking and credit card business in Taiwan as part of its delivery of various products including wealth management services.

    The capital of DBS Taiwan will increase to approximately NT$22 billion. Except for certain businesses such as those relating to foreign exchange, derivative financial products and money market products which may be retained in the Taipei branch of DBS, the businesses of DBS’ branches in Taiwan will be brought under DBS Taiwan. As at July 2011, DBS has 40 branches in Taiwan.
