    Description
    The Board of Directors of Hong Leong Asia Ltd. (“HLA” or the “Company”) wishes to announce that Well Summit Investments Limited (“Well Summit”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, had on 22 August 2011, purchased in the open market 407,312 ordinary shares of US$0.10 each in the capital of CYI (a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange), representing approximately 1.09% of the issued and paid-up share capital of CYI, for a cash consideration of US$6,491,697.92. The acquisition was funded by banking facilities. Following the said purchase, the HLA group holds in aggregate 12,558,020 ordinary shares and one special share of US$0.10 in CYI, representing approximately 33.70% of the issued and paid-up share capital of CYI comprising 37,267,673 ordinary shares and one special share as at 22 August 2011.
