Company Update

The Board of Directors (the “Board”) of Contel Corporation Limited (the “Company”) wishes to update on the Company’s and its subsidiaries’ (the “Group”) affairs.

New Revenue Stream

One of the Group’s wholly owned subsidiaries; Shenzhen Sophi Multimedia System Company Limited (‘Sophi’) has in August 2011 successfully completed its initial shipment of 3,000 units of Global Positioning System (‘GPS’).

After four years of development work, Sophi has created a GPS running on its own proprietary operating system. The shipment of this initial batch of 3,000 units signals the commencement of the trial commercial production. Upon the successful completion of the trial, meaningful commercial production would establish a potential new revenue stream for the Group.

Further to the above, the Group wishes to highlight the fast deteriorating global economic environment and the slowdown in its main market, the USA. The Group is monitoring the situation closely and strives to be disciplined and tight in its accounts receivable monitoring and management.

As mentioned in the previous Company Update on 31 August 2011, the Company has successfully completed its Scheme of Arrangement with its Scheme Creditors and successfully raised a total of $8.7 million from its Rights Issue in June 2011. The repaired balance sheet would provide a platform for the Company to evaluate and study any subsequent potential Merger and Acquisition activities.

Caution in Trading

Shareholders are advised to exercise caution in trading their shares and to refrain from taking any action in relation to their shares which may be prejudicial to their interests. The Company will make the necessary announcements when there are further developments.
